چکیده

As contemporary emerging materials, fiber-reinforced plastics/polymers (FRP) are widely used in aerospace automotive industries and other fields due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, stiffness-to-weight corrosion resistance, low thermal expansion properties. Drilling is the most frequently process industrial operation for polymer composite laminates, owing need joining structures. However, it a great challenge operators drill holes FRP non-homogenous anisotropic properties of fibers. Various damages, such as delamination, hole shrinkage, burr tool wear, occur heterogeneous nature laminates. Therefore, this study, carbon fiber reinforced (CFRP)/aramid (AFRP) hybrid composites (C-AFRP) were successfully synthesized, drilling characteristics, including generation also mainly investigated. The characteristics CFRP C-AFRP compared analyzed first time under same operating conditions (cutting tool, spindle speed, feed rate). experimental results demonstrated that had higher tensile strength good (low thrust less wear) with CFRP. lightweight high-strength structural material, have potential applications automobile after slight processing burrs generated during drilling.

“a Study of Tool Wear in Turning of Pure Aluminum and Drilling of Cfrp /ti

Tool wear in turning of pure aluminum and drilling of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP)/titanium (Ti) stacks was investigated due to their importance in modern manufacturing. Although pure aluminum is a ductile metal while CFRP contains brittle carbon fibers, there exist also few important similarities which impact tool wear. For instance, neither work material contains inclusions harder ...

Minimization of Burr Height and Tool Wear in Drilling of Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites Using Desirable-Fuzzy Approach

This paper is focused on minimization of the burr height and Tool wear in drilling of Aluminium Metal Matrix Composites(AMMC) using “Desirable-Fuzzy” approach, which is developed by combining the Desirability Function Analysis and Fuzzy Logic. AMMC samples are prepared based on selected material parameters and drilling experiments are conducted on these samples as per Taguchi OA L27 which is de...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Tool Design for Burr Removal in Drilling Operations

One of the most significant problems encountered in machining, particularly in drilling, is that of burr formation. Burrs usually comprise of work piece material which has been plastically deformed during the machining process and projects beyond the desired edge of the work piece. The adverse effects of burrs depend on the component application but may include; stress concentration and related...
